Charles Lee Springer, 84, of Evansville, passed away Monday, October 10, 2016, at West River Health Campus. He was born April 4, 1932, in Tennessee, to the late Eugene Springer and Robbie Bryan.

He served as a US Navy Veteran then later retired from Ball Plastics. Charles enjoyed woodworking, hunting, and fishing, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and IU basketball fan. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; son, Steve; and parents.

He is survived by his daughter, Carol (Danny) Gries; son, Mark (Joy) Springer; daughter-in-law, Becky Springer; grandchildren, Ryan Gries, Jamie Helton, Alex Springer, Melissa Wallace and Julie Smith; brother, Joel (Mary Jo) Springer; and many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law who were very close to him.

A Prayer Service will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, October 14, 2016, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Father David Nunning, followed by burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Thursday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Friday from 9:30 AM until service time at the funeral home.
