Minnie "Violet" Freimiller, 98, of Evansville, passed Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Good Samaritan. She was born February 23, 1919 in Mt. Vernon, IN to the late Rufus and Estel Irene Wells.

Violet worked with the school corporation as a cook at Central downtown, Baker, Columbia, North High and retired from Lodge.
Her children and grandchildren remember many mornings that she would be up early whistling, yodeling or singing songs on the radio as she was preparing breakfast or baking. Her biggest joy was making her homemade noodles, pie crusts or yeast hot...

Minnie "Violet" Freimiller, 98, of Evansville, passed Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Good Samaritan. She was born February 23, 1919 in Mt. Vernon, IN to the late Rufus and Estel Irene Wells.

Violet worked with the school corporation as a cook at Central downtown, Baker, Columbia, North High and retired from Lodge.
Her children and grandchildren remember many mornings that she would be up early whistling, yodeling or singing songs on the radio as she was preparing breakfast or baking. Her biggest joy was making her homemade noodles, pie crusts or yeast hot rolls and many other favorite dishes that the family looked forward to on holidays or birthdays. Violet learned her cooking talents working for Dr. Emmick and his wife as a cook starting in her teenage years and until after the birth of her first two children. Violet also loved to make quilts and was a seamstress, making many outfits and quilts for her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by daughters, Frances (Don) Wilkey of Chandler, IN and Rebecca (Jim) Willem of Evansville; sons, Charles Freimiller ( Judy Jones) of Dale, IN and Bruce Freimiller of Paducah,KY; grandchildren, Donna (Jim) Evans, Tina (Jeff) Whitaker, Ray (Cindy) Wilkey, Michelle Crane, Charles, Jr. (MaryAnn) Freimiller, Sean (Monica) Freimiller, Justin (Jennifer) Freimiller and Deanna (Bret) Keller; step-grandchildren, Jason (Angie) Willem, Jennifer (Mike) Rogers, Jon (Maria) Willem and Jacob Willem; 18 great-grandchildren; 8 step-great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, William Rudolph "Rudy" in 1986; son, William Rufus "Bill" and his wife, Rita Freimiller in 2011; daughter-in-law, Randa Freimiller in 2011, and sisters, Lucy Wade, Ruth (Ricketts) Batey and Eleanor "Jane" Dutschke.
Violet's family would like to extend a special thank you to those that gave her special care at Good Samaritan Home.

Funeral Services were held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street, officiated by Chaplain Tara Powell, with burial in Bellefontaine Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, Friends visited 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 15, 2017 and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
